The Everly Brothers, Phil and Don were a sensational duo in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Their music and songs were popular, easy to sing along and touched many fans from that time era and still touches the hearts of many today.
Phil Every, died of complications from COPD, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is said that his lifetime smoking habit contributed to his condition and death on Friday at age 74 reported on Jan. 3 by the Los Angeles Times.
The Everly’s had an influence on many other singers that followed years and decades later such as the Beatles and Bob Dylan. Their harmony was unique and captivated the nation and teenagers with their music that ricocheted around the world.
The Everly Brothers were one of the first ten performers ever to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Some of the songs they performed included “Wake Up Little Susie”, “Bye, Bye Love”, “Cathy’s Clown”, “Claudette”, “All I Have to Do Is Dream” and “When Will I Be Loved”.
Phil Everly is survived by his wife Patti, his brother Don, as well as his mother, Margaret, two granddaughters and his sons, Jason and Chris.
He will be missed but fans will keep their memories of his music in their hearts forever!
