Jacqueline Penney Davis, 73, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at the Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center after a struggle with COPD. Jackie was of the Church of God faith and loved music. When able, she attended the weekly blue grass jam sessions at the Soddy Community Center. She loved to cook; created beautiful hand sewed quilts and looked forward to planting flowers every spring. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Gertrude Penney; brothers, Arnold, Dougle and Ross Penney; sister, Anita Revels and husband, Jimmy Davis. She was a loving and devoted mother to her special needs son who was the light of her life. Jackie is survived by her son, Tony; sisters, Jean (Jack) Gregory and Thelma (Wendall) Walker, all of Soddy-Daisy and several nieces and nephews and many loyal friends. A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 at 2 p.m. at East Soddy Community Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service for friends will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Smokey Mountain Children’s Home, 449 McCarn Circle, Sevierville, TN 37862, where she adopted her precious son 46 years ago.
