MADAWASKA – Charlene (Lagasse) Levesque, 66, went peacefully to join her beloved “Ti Blanc,” on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, after succumbing to complications related to COPD at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born May 31, 1947, to Clovis and Lillian (Cote) Lagasse and lived her entire life in Madawaska.
She married her high school sweetheart on June 21, 1969, and was happily married for 33 and a half years prior to his death in February 2003. During his illness, she never left his side and a piece of her died with him….she had a “broken heart.”
Charlene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jonathan Palmer; her son and daughter-in-law, William “Bill” and Brenda (Bouchard) Levesque; and her three “precious” granddaughters, Jillian and Jocelyn Palmer and Brooke Levesque. She had a unique bond and a special relationship with each of “her girls.” She is also survived by three sisters, Theresa Dombrowski and her husband, Edward, of New York, Beverly Pelletier and her husband, Percy, of Waterville, and Grace Ouellette and her husband, Rosaire, of Madawaska; and one brother, Roderick Lagasse and his wife, Joanne, of Waterville. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Armand “Ti Blanc” Levesque; and her brother, Ronald Lagasse. Her happiest moments in the last few years were times spent with her granddaughters and she loved them “to the moon and back.” She was a great mom, an awesome “Memere” and will be missed by many family and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, and 9-9:45 a.m. before the service Friday, at Lajoie Funeral Home.
