RAVENNA-Margie Ann Horning, 77, of Ravenna, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Dec. 26, 1935, in Lisbon to parents Carl and Mildred (Morris) Ewing. Margie was a devoted wife, loving mother and proud grandmother. She was a former resident of Salem; Charlotte, N.C.; and Summerfield, Fla.

She is survived by her children, Ronald J. (Donna Gayle) Horning of Boardman, Sue (Sam) Boles of Ravenna, John R. (Margaret) Horning of Salem, Jeff (Janet) Horning of Fort Mill, S.C., and Sherri (Daryl) Burton of LaGrange, Ga.; her sisters, Sandi (Frank) Barber of Ravenna and Peggy (Charlie) Breiding of Randolph; a sister-in-law, Betty Horning of Salem; as well as her 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, her great-great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Joseph Horning, on Nov. 14, 2007, as well as her parents, brother-in-law Fred Fritz Horning and her great-grandson Kage Michael Sturgeon.

Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, with a memorial service immediately following at 7 p.m. Final resting place will be the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
