George Wayne Caylor

George Wayne Caylor, 57, of Spotsylvania County passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, after a long battle with COPD.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Vicki Masten Caylor; two sons, Steven Wayne Caylor, currently at Fort Gordon, Ga., serving with the U.S. Army, and Anthony “Tony” Caylor; one daughter, Randi Diane Caylor; two stepchildren, Christopher Raines and Carrie Rinehart and her husband, Dustin; a sister, Debbie Howard and her husband, Roger; and six grandchildren; Devon, Deacon and Randal Caylor, Aubrey Hotchkiss, Mahkenzie Raines and Christina Rinehart.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph and Beatrice Smallwood Caylor; and two brothers, Randolph Steven Caylor and Willie Caylor.

Wayne was born in Winchester, moved to Spotsylvania and went to Spotsylvania High School. He enjoyed football while in high school and hiking up Old Rag Mountain when he was in his 20s. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Butte in the mid ’70s.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at Salem Baptist Church, 4044 Plank Road, Fredericksburg, VA. 22407.
