HOULTON – Gordon Eugene Hanning, 62, passed away peacefully Sept. 21, 2013, from a long illness of COPD, at home in Houlton. He was born Sept. 18, 1951, the son of Percy K. and Donna I. (Michaud) Hanning.

Gordon enjoyed mechanic work, carpentry work, he made many furniture pieces, refurbished old pieces. He put a special touch on anything he made, he could take a sow’s ear and make a purse. His work history includes local contractors, independent work and for 10 years was employed by Wilbert Vault of Aroostook where he was a vault setter and mechanic keeping five large trucks on the road.

Gordon is survived by his brothers, Johnny and his wife, Millie, George, Rodney, Gerry, and Fred; his sisters, Gloria and her husband, Robert, Sheila, Mary, Leslie, Dottie and her fiancé, Gary; several nieces and nephews; and his good friends and neighbors, the McGarys and the Smiths. He was predeceased by his father, Percy Kenneth Hanning; mother, Donna Isabel MacDonald; his brother, Billy; and sisters, Brenda and Sharon.
