LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The city of Louisville has declared an Air Quality Alert Day for Thursday, May 24.

According to Kentuckiana Air Education (KAIRE), the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District’s community outreach and education program, weather forecasters believe that ozone levels will be in the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” range on Thursday.

That means groups like seniors, children and people with breathing ailments like asthma and COPD will likely be affected, while other members of the general public will not.

Members of sensitive groups should use caution while outside on Thursday.
