Adrian Gibson, a meteorologist on WAAY-TV 31 here in Huntsville, passed away recently. Adrian was a weather legend here in the Tennessee Valley.

Adrian started working at what would become WAAY-TV 31 in the early 1970s. Prior to working for the television station as a meteorologist, he had worked in the military and on the radio.
Adrian was on the air during the April 3, 1974, tornado super outbreak. He was also on the air for the Airport Road tornado of November 1989 and the Anderson Hills tornado of 1995.
Adrian retired from WAAY-TV several years ago. He had been fighting COPD before his death in November at age 78. He funeral and burial happened in DeKalb County, where he was born and raised.
Adrian Gibson was a legendary meteorologist at WAAY-TV here in Huntsville. He will be missed by all who remember him and knew him well.
