NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Thomas Gerald Warnimont, 72, born November 16, 1942, died Friday, December 19, 2014, in his home after a long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Anita Warnimont; daughter, Kelly Jo Arce (Gumby/Gamaliel); grandchildren, Seth Seinkner and Sam Seinkner; son, Kurt Thomas (Deb) Warnimont; grandchildren, Nicholas Warnimont, Kayla Warnimont and Jami Good; stepsons, Chopper/Eric (Deborah) Betts and Brent (Julie) Betts; and grandchildren, Regan Betts and Jacob Betts.

Tom grew up in Defiance Ohio, the only son of Gilbert and Velma Warniment. Tom enlisted in the Navy in June of 1960, ultimately becoming a 3rd Class Petty Officer and received the First Good Conduct Medal award in June of 1963. He was honorably discharged from the Navy and notably served on the USS Kitty Hawk. In 1993, Tom retired from General Motors, Defiance, Ohio, after almost 30 years of service.

Tom and Anita enjoyed spending time together over the last 21 years in the sunny state of Florida. Tom was a friend that you could count on during the easy and tough times, never expecting anything in return.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of Gulfside Hospice. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care over the last several days were a heartwarming blessing to the entire family. We thank God for the gift of Tom’s life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.
