The doctor that lessened the dangers of smoking should be reprimanded by his local medical board and be required to teach all his patients the full dangers of smoking!
Two of my uncles died of smoking-related cancer and dad quit smoking after he was coughing up blood and his doctor told him that he needed to quit smoking or he would get cancer. He quit that day! He died at age 74 of multiple bad heart attacks! Mom ended up with COPD! Seventh-day Adventist churches have very successful stop smoking, drinking, etc. programs! Doctors should be held legally responsible for not informing their patients of all the dangers of smoking!
The politicians should pass laws banning the manufacture and sale of tobacco! The manufacture of almost all products are heavily scrutinized by the government; but smoking products are allowed, even though the government’s own medical investigation lists the laundry list of things like cancer, heart problems and other health risks directly caused by smoking and second-hand smoke; but the sale and manufacture of smoking products is still legal in this country because of all the tobacco manufacturers’ lobbyists working to protect and promote smoking.
Why, when smoking directly causes so much suffering and death? If all DOs, doctors and nurse practitioners, etc. all are concerned about their patients’ well being, they should inform their patients about the benefits of chelation therapy. I had two light strokes – one in 2008 and one in 2009 and my internist told me my long-term prognosis was for a bad heart attack or a bad stroke because my carotid arteries were 50 percent blocked!
