It’s another hazy day in northern Nevada, but that isn’t keeping folks from getting out and sticking to their regular routines.

Helen O’Brien spent Monday afternoon at Virginia Lake feeding the ducks and the geese.

“It’s bad today but nothing like yesterday,” she told us. “Yesterday I did the Edible Pedal and that was pretty thick by the time we finished it yesterday. This is better than that was.”

Kathy Jensen works at a local daycare center.

“We keep the kids inside to keep them out of this. But I really need to walk. I have C.O.P.D. and I really need to walk for my legs so I have to get out here and walk. I do wish it would clear up though.”

And Alyssa Roberts just moved her family here this year. Family members still live in Placerville and she was there last week.

“This is a little smoky,” she said today. “But last week it was really thick in Placerville. I mean it was like fog; you couldn’t see anything and it made you cough just to be outside. It was horrible. We were glad to come home here to Northern Nevada.”

And just about everyone we talked to today said they just hope to see the fires out and the haze to clear up by the end of the week.
