The manager of a Lynn doctors surgery is encouraging all those over 65, or suffering from long-term conditions, to make an appointment for their flu vaccination.

As coughs and cold season approaches, Noel McGivern, of Southgates Medical Centre, is hopeful that all eligible patients across West Norfolk, including children this year, will take up the offer of a free NHS flu vaccination at their surgery.

He said: “If you are over 65, or if you suffer from a long-term condition such as chronic liver disease, diabetes or a chronic respiratory disease such as asthma, COPD or bronchitis, you can come along and have an NHS flu jab absolutely free of charge. We also offer this service for all carers and healthcare workers.”

Southgates Medical Centre have appointments available at the surgery now and are also holding Saturday morning clinics on October 4 and November 1, from 8.30am until lunchtime. They are also offering appointments throughout the working week. Noel added: “Don’t miss your opportunity now. Some community pharmacies are also offering free NHS flu jabs this year.”
