WINTER HAVEN – Wallace D. “Wally” Johnson, age 64, of Winter Haven, FL passed away July 23, 2014 from COPD.
He was born April 17, 1950 in Cochran, GA, the son of Denson Johnson and Eva Lou (Carden) Johnson.
He was a retired Master Sergeant with the US Air Force.
In addition to his parents, Wally was preceded in death by his son: Bobby Johnson, sisters Bobbie Lou Freiwald and Myrtle Branch, and brother, Emory Johnson, all of Winter Haven.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Glenda Johnson, daughter Nicole Garretson, and grandsons Tyler Johnson and Dillan Scarbrough, all of Winter Haven, sisters Laurine, Vicki, Merie and Linda (Dean), brother Roy (Gayton), all of Winter Haven, sisters-in-law, Brenda Williamson (Glen), Barbara Felker (Pete) of MO, and Karen Eyrich (Rick) of Winter Haven, brothers-in-law, Carroll Fletcher (Margaret) of MO and Dorsey Branch of Winter Haven.
Wally enjoyed spending time with his family telling jokes and cutting up. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching the squirrels and birds in the back yard.
Gone but never forgotten. His memories will live forever. Loved always.
Visitation is Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 5-7pm with funeral services Monday at 10am, both at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven, FL. Burial to follow in Auburndale Memorial Park.
