A couple enjoys a mild Monday night on Pier 62 and 63 as the Great Wheel and CenturyLink Field glow turquoise to raise awareness of lung disease as the American Lung Association of the Mountain Pacific kicks off National Women’s Lung Health Week on May 12, 2014. The Westin Hotel, PEMCO, Union Square and the Pacific Science Center arches were also lit during last night’s “Turquoise Takeover.” The nonprofit organization works to keep air clean, reduce harmful behavior like smoking and prevent and treat lung diseases such as asthma, COPD and lung cancer.
