Food, festivities and fun filled the Guadalupe Center in Scottsbluff this weekend and Our Lady of Guadalupe organizers say the revival of their Penny Carnival was very successful.
The event was put on to raise money for the church.
Parish Council Member Domingo Sabala says several volunteers came together to provide games and prizes for children in the area.
He says the church stopped putting on the carnival for a few years but now is the time to bring it back.
“We’ve done a lot of work, made all the games, been collecting the prizes throughout the year so it’s coming along really good. Our church hasn’t done it for a long time like this and it’s just time we bring it back,” said Sabala.
Organizers say they would like to thank the community for its support and that they plan to have next year’s carnival closer to Cinco de Mayo.
