Leonard Nimoy Says His Fans to Quit Smoking

The sight horrified many of his fans. When Leonard Nimoy was brought into an airport on a wheel chair with a gas mask on his face the actor looked quite ill. He has COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). This affects the lungs badly and is caused by smoking cigarettes. 

Recently, Leonard broke the news on a social network site too. He furthermore said that “Grandpa says quit now!” and added the slogan he was famous for: “LLAP” which stands for live long and prosper. 

Nimoy was the focal point of millions once as the taciturn and mysterious Mr. Spock on the TV series Star Trek. He played the Vulcan alien life form and intrigued many who found something different about his character on the television screen space odyssey.

The ailment that Leonard Nimoy has cannot be reversed. It decreases quality of life and makes breathing quite a hassle. That is why he has warned millions of his followers and fans not to make the same mistake he made so long ago. Had he quit in the nick of time maybe he wouldn’t have had to see this day when he was close to being an invalid. But it was too late now. 

However, he is still participating in life to the limits of his ability. Life may be tough but it is the man who can smile through the tears that is a survivor. And he is the one who deserves our praise.
